In the days when Modderfontein was the commercial trading center of the valley, local produce such as buchu and rooibos tea was stored in this building, until it could be sent in bulk to the markets of the Cape of Good Hope.
Tastefully decorated with a leather Chesterfield lounge suite and antique Persian rugs, it is also the largest of the cottages, with authentic glazed Oregon pine double doors opening onto the large balcony with magnificent views of the Olifants River Valley and mountains beyond. It has two bedrooms (one double, one twin, both with extra length beds), each with an en suite bathroom.
