The historic building that originally housed the Post Office, shop, and trading store from 1858 until 1960, is now a charming country restaurant and a warm, welcoming pub.  It is also available as a private function venue.

The restaurant, with its original Oregon floors and high beamed ceiling, offers elegant dining, also catering for functions. A friendly mix of locals and tourists enjoy the seasonal menu and local wines. The front stoep with its stunning views over the valley is a summer treat, while the log fire adds warmth to the historic setting in winter.

The pub, a Victorian/Regency design by William Volbrecht, also sports a large screen television and stocks a wide variety of beers, ciders, liquor and wines. Pub lunches are available at designated times.

We are open Tuesday to Saturday for light refreshments from 10:00 to 14:30, and for lunch from 12:30 to 14:30. Dinner (Tuesday to Saturday) is served from 19:00 and on Sundays the buffet is ready from 12:30. We accept MasterCard and Visa, and our dress code is smart, but casual.

The Old Village is the ideal place for private or corporate functions, wedding receptions, celebrations, and conferences. The unique setting and layout of the historic farm, make it not only a single venue, but a whole village with a range of function venues and a selection of accommodation options.

Imagine all your guests or conference attendees being within walking distance of event venues, the restaurant, and country pub for meals - not having to drive home, everybody being accommodated in the beautifully restored farm buildings.
